Community holds fundraiser for family of Julius Lopez

FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- The community came together to support the family of a toddler who was killed Wednesday.

Dozens of tacos were made and sold from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. to raise money for Julius Lopez' funeral costs. Authorities believe the near two-year-old was murdered by his mother's boyfriend Gage Hurtado.

Loved ones say the unexpected loss has devastated the entire family.

"It's something that you don't wish upon anyone, but we are just trying to cope with what happened," a family member said.

The family has also set up a GoFundMe account to assist with funeral expenses.
