Thousands of Lemoore students prep for community college
The event is called Eagle Dayz it allowed students to register for classes in advance, as well as learn about financial aid and other programs.

FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- A day of preparation, and registration for high school students in the South Valley.

West Hills College Lemoore welcomed 5,000 students from area high schools who will be attending the community college next year. The event is called Eagle Dayz it allowed students to register for classes in advance, as well as learn about financial aid and other programs.

The college's dean of students says early registration sets students up for success and helps integrate students into college life.

"These students become members of our school community at the same time," dean Joel Ruble said. "You can see the way they interact with staff, with one another. These are from different high schools, rival high schools potentially, and right now they're all together today as new Golden Eagles."

Ruble says there is one goal of Eagle Dayz every year, and that's to have the best prepared class of students west hills has ever seen.
