FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- Several local students are celebrating Saturday after academic decathlons were held from the north valley to the south.

The Fresno County competition took place at Central East High School. Teams from 26 different schools competed in 10 categories including mathematics, economics, speech and science.

It all wrapped up with the super quiz, which focused on knowledge of India this year.

Winners from each county contest will go on to compete in the state championship next month in Sacramento. And the team that wins there will advance to the national decathlon in Alaska in April.
