Tulare County Fair's Wild Animal Exhibit was cleaned in preparation for opening day. The new feature, along with many others are what organizers hope will bring the South Valley community together for the event. It's take a lot of work to get to this point.

"It's been a long exciting road to where we are today and when the gates open. The community can pat themselves on the back," said Pam Fyock, Tulare County Fair CEO.

The Tulare County Fair has been in the rebuilding stages ever since losing it's funding from the state. Now, organizers are focused on getting all in the community involved. From sparkling, fresh coats of paint, to brand new landscaping -- nearly everything was donated by businesses, community members, and students.

"It's their fair and it's a new fair and we want everybody to have pride in the product we produced," said Fyock.

Students even helped put the finishing touches on this livestock show barn which was condemned two years ago. The Tulare County Fair Foundation is still fundraising the full $100,000 dollars it cost to fix it.

Also new, parents of little ones can expect an expanded "Cub Country" with lots of rides for kids 40-inches and shorter. "It's a new area parents can come in the courtyard it's all shaded and cool," said Fyock.

If you're just heading to the fair for the food, there are new vendors, and then there's Milo's, where corn dogs have been fried up and served hot for more than 40 years. This year Milo has formulated a new batter that's fluffier and sweeter.

"I worked with a chemist in the L.A. area and we took what I liked with other batters and kind of made our own batter," said Milo Franks, Milo and Son Enterprises.

The Tulare County Fair kicks off Wednesday morning. It all starts with the parade at 10 a.m.
