FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- An agricultural chemical plant near Reedley caught fire Sunday, causing more than $2 million in damages.

Fire officials say the four-alarm fire engulfed a 20,000 square foot building near Crawford and South Avenues. Cal Fire says the large fire collapsed the roof and destroyed more than 25 percent of the building.

Authorities say one of the challenges they faced, in addition to the heat, was access to water.

"We are pulling water from the canal right now with drafting operations, so a number of resources limited water is always a challenge in rural areas," Capt. Jeremiah Wittwer with Cal Fire

More than 100 firefighters from multiple agencies were dispatched to help put the blaze out. The cause of it is unknown and there were no injuries.

Cal Fire also says the chemical fire does not pose a health threat to residents nearby.
