FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- Haley Green, 26, cut her hand on Monday and severed a tendon. She was treated at the emergency room, but said she can't get a specialist to look at the deep wound, even though she's insured by the universal coverage.

Her insurance provider, Anthem Blue Cross selected through Covered California, gave her a list of doctors she was eligible to see. She said she has called 48 doctors on that list, all of whom say they can't help her.

"I'm a liberal person I think everyone should have health care in a perfect world. I just think that maybe there should be a little bit more information," said Haley Green.

Green said the doctors who are on her list are either in the process of opting out of their contract, were put on the Covered California list by mistake, or they are not accepting new patients. When ABC30 reached out to representatives from Covered California they could only send links to resource websites.

Green is one of 1.4 million Californians who signed up for insurance through Covered California this past March.
