FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- Investigators are looking into a shooting north of the Fresno Chaffee Zoo that left one person dead and another injured.

Fresno police say they responded to the area of Olive and Delno avenues around 5:30 p.m. Monday for a report of a double shooting. Officers say two people were shot after what may have been a disturbance near that intersection.

The two then fled the scene in a car and ended up crashing on the corner of Weber and Hammond avenues -- the same dirt lot where the home of convicted murderer Marcus Wesson once stood.

Both people in the car were taken to Community Regional Medical Center where a man in his early 20s died from his injuries. The other person was last listed in critical condition.

No suspect information has been released.

Anyone with information on this case is asked to contact the Fresno Police Department at (559) 621-7000.
