Police arrest man for attempting to rob a bank in Central Fresno

FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- A man is in custody after police said he tried to rob a bank in Fresno.

Officers said Javier Valez handed a note to a teller at the Central Fresno bank and demanded cash. Bank employees immediately alerted the police, telling them Valez was still inside.

When officers arrived they arrested Valez as he walked out of the bank still carrying the demand note in his pocket.
