Search continues for missing skier at Sugar Bowl Ski Resort
The search is starting up again for a skier missing near Donner Summit.

FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- The search is starting up again for a skier missing near Donner Summit.

Carson May was last seen skiing at the Sugar Bowl Resort Thursday afternoon. He wasn't reported missing until Friday morning when his friends realized he didn't show up at home.

Rescuers later picked up a signal from his phone, but still couldn't find him.

They say there were some snow slides in the area but they still have hope. "Yes, we do. We're gonna try to search all the areas that we can," said John Lasagna, Placer County Sheriff's Department.

Sugar Bowl Resort officials said May is an instructor with the Mountain Sports Learning Center Ski School and was off duty when he went missing.
