The Macy's Fireworks Show celebrated the opening of Super Bowl City and return of the Bay Lights to the Willie L. Brown Jr. Bay Bridge in San Francisco on Saturday, Jan. 30, 2016.

The Bay Lights returned to the Willie L. Brown Jr. Bay Bridge with a bang as pyrotechnicians launched fireworks on the eve of Super Bowl week in San Francisco.

The Macy's Fireworks Show helped kick off the opening of Super Bowl City, a fan village that is free to the public. The village is centered at Justin Herman Plaza near San Francisco's famed Market Street.

The display featured more than 15,000 shells and was produced by Pyro Spectaculars in partnership with the San Francisco Bay Area Super Bowl 50 Host Committee.

Shortly after the 12-minute long fireworks show, Northern California native Chris Isaak performed at The City Stage.

Other artists slated to play at the stage during Super Bowl week include Matt Nathanson, The Band Perry, One Republic and Alicia Keys.

The Carolina Panthers and Denver Broncos square off in Super Bowl 50 at Levi's Stadium, home to the San Francisco 49ers, on Sunday, Feb. 7.
