Father and daughter shot in east-central Fresno

FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- A father and daughter are in the hospital after a shooting Monday in east-central Fresno.

It happened on Winery and University Avenues. Police say they received several calls to the area where they found shell casings and broken glass. Officers say both victims a 33-year-old man and his 15-year-old daughter were not at the scene but showed up to the hospital later.

Police say the shooting happened as the victims were driving and someone approached them and shot them. Investigators say the shooting appears to be targeted and may involve gangs.
