FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- The table is set and the kitchen is ready for potential home buyers at Granville Homes new development, La Ventana. "We have two plans that we'll be introducing that both have family suites for those who maybe have a mother-in-law living with them, or kids going to college, they can accommodate them without too much of a hassle inside the home," said Victor Gonzalez, Granville Homes Sales Manager.

This weekend, the builder will be unveiling its two new plans in Northwest Fresno. They say buyers are looking for extra space in their homes and lots. "We've had quite a bit of interest and we see it. Part of it is because inventories are going down, so for people out looking for a home there isn't a lot," said Gonzalez.

Gonzalez adds the location to Highway 99, shopping and the energy efficient features are also attracting people. There are just 70 lots left for sale in La Ventana development.

New homes are also being built on Southeast Clovis, like at Liv!-- a development by Wilson Homes. You will notice it is almost halfway built out in four months, which is incredible," said Ryan Pottoroff, Liv! Loma Vista.

Pottoroff said business is booming. He said the unique housing development is affordable and in a great location, close to Reagan Educational Center. The housing is geared toward first time home buyers or those looking for a smaller space. "People like the low maintenance concept of the homes. There's people now who are downsizing. Who've had the bigger yards and homes, and where now, they can just go out to the patio and relax."

Whether it's Fresno or Clovis, both agents said an uptick in the economy, and low interest rates, is encouraging people to buy again.
