FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- Authorities are searching for one of two suspects involved in a pursuit through Fresno and Clovis Saturday afternoon.

Police tried to pull over a black SUV on Ashlan and Chestnut Avenues for having a broken windshield, but they say the driver took off and led them on a two-mile chase that ended near Santa Ana and Villa.

"The officers didn't see what caused it," Lt. Joe Alvarez with the Fresno Police Department said. "We didn't use spike strips but there was a stop sign that was struck over by Lind Avenue and we believing that he lost control of the vehicle there and when he struck the stop sign it popped his tire."

Two men jumped out of the SUV and ran. Officers found 25-year-old Troy Franklin hiding in a nearby home. He refused to come out initially but eventually surrendered.

Police say he was on parole for a weapons charge and will likely face more charges. They also recovered two guns but are still looking for the second suspect.
