Fresno Co deputy fires on suspect who tried to hit him with a car
A man is under arrest, accused of trying to hit a Fresno County deputy with his car.

A man is under arrest, accused of trying to hit a Fresno County deputy with his car.

Fresno County Sheriff's officials say the deputy tried to pull over 25-year-old David Hamilton around 11:30 p.m. on Monday -- but he sped off. The deputy chased him to Highway 99 and Clinton Avenue where Hamilton lost control of his car.

Detectives say the deputy got out of his patrol car, but Hamilton then tried to hit the deputy with his car. Investigators say the deputy opened fire at Hamilton but he was not hit.

A CHP helicopter followed the suspect to Dayton and Valentine, where he was arrested. Fresno Police are handling the investigation.
