A fast moving spring wildfire crossed into California by jumping the Colorado River.

FRESNO, Calif. -- A fast moving spring wildfire crossed into California by jumping the Colorado River.

The fire sparked Wednesday morning near Lake Havasu. As of Thursday morning, the fire has burned more than 1,400 acres -- but that number is expected to go up.

RV parks and a resort near Needles have been evacuated. Thee fire is 5-percent contained. There's no word yet on the cause. Windy conditions are expected in the area later this afternoon.
