FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- A valley organization is helping teenagers in need head of prom season.
Valley Health Team organized an event called the Cinderella Project. Girls were able to choose from a selection of more than 1,300 dresses for their school dance. These gowns were donated by the community as a way to help families who live in under-served Fresno County communities.
"Their parents wouldn't be able to, otherwise, be able to effort to go to prom so this is a way to assist the community and assist the families that we care about," Marti Shirley with the organization said.
In addition to having access to dresses, girls got a free necklace and some styling tips to help coordinate their look for the big day.
Some even took advantage of a high heel clinic to help learn how to walk in taller shoes.
