Jose Ramirez prepares for Vegas fight
Avenal-native Jose Ramirez will put his WBC Continental Americas Super Lightweight Title on the line against Manny Perez Saturday night.

LAS VEGAS, Nevada. (KFSN) -- Avenal-native Jose Ramirez will put his WBC Continental Americas Super Lightweight Title on the line against Manny Perez Saturday night.

At Friday's Weigh-in, Jose Ramirez came in at 138 pounds. He looked relaxed and he looked confident.

"More than anything, just eat. Stay well hydrated. Get my liquids back up, get rest and wake up, have a good solid breakfast," Ramirez said. "Maybe a small lunch and then a snack close to the fight. But, more than anything right now, just to get my rest. Spend time with my family, be around good vibes. And get my mind off the fight for a little bit. It's still too early to be thinking too much about the fight. But I'm sure hours before the fight I'm going start visualizing the fight before it happens. So, that always happens hours before the fight when I'm resting in the room."

Jose Ramirez is a champion, but he's not a World Champion. To do that, he'll have to beat Manny Perez to keep him on track for a world title, sometime this year.
