FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- The student who was molested by a Fresno High School teacher is now suing Fresno Unified and the teacher.

Darren Klassen admitted last month to five felony sex charges with the student, who was between the ages of 15 and 17 at the time of the crimes. Her lawsuit says it happened at school for two-and-a-half years and it was a poorly kept secret.

It claims Fresno High staff knew Klassen would lock himself in his classroom with the girl and were told about inappropriate contact. The lawsuit also says they knew Klassen always covered the only window to his classroom so nobody could see inside.

Through a statement, Fresno Unified told Action News, "We have not been served, nor do we comment on pending litigation."
