FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- A man is in the hospital Sunday after being shot at Quigley Park in Central Fresno.

Police say they responded to a shooting at the park but found nothing but bullet casings.

They said a witness then gave them part of a license plate number seen on a black Chevrolet Tahoe seen leaving the scene, and that license plate led officers to a home where they were able to arrest two men.

One of them was injured and taken to the hospital.

"Initially, we were told he was shot in the head, but when officers contacted him he was conscious and breathing and it is yet to be determined whether he was hit by an actual bullet or a fragment or some type of other projectile," Lt. Ron Hughes with the Fresno Police Department said.

No word on the man's condition.

Detectives are now speaking with the homeowner who they say is cooperating. They are also looking for a white Tahoe that could also be involved.
