Firefighters suspect squatters as cause of 2-alarm fire in Downtown Fresno
Nobody was inside by the time firefighters got to the scene and they don't think anyone was hurt, but the home sustained substantial damage.

FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- Squatters may be to blame for a two-alarm fire Sunday at an abandoned home in downtown Fresno.

Firefighters say someone saw people leaving the area at about the same time they noticed the flames.

They say the fire spread quickly through the attic and then to a nearby shed.

Nobody was inside by the time firefighters got to the scene and they don't think anyone was hurt, but the home sustained substantial damage.

The cause is under investigation.
