African-American students recognized in Fresno ceremony
A group of valley students got special honors Sunday, including one who's getting an extra boost for college during the African-American High School Recognition ceremony.

FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- A group of valley students got special honors Sunday, including one who's getting an extra boost for college from this station.

"On behalf of ABC30 and the Walt Disney Company, I'm pleased to present a $500 scholarship to Clovis North graduate Jessica Jones," ABC30 News Director Michael Carr said.

Carr spoke at the African-American High School Recognition ceremony at the Save Mart Center.

The program's purpose is to acknowledge graduating seniors who might not otherwise be recognized individually.
