They say he's unable to paint and do repairs on his own, and without a major makeover, his insurance company was going to cancel his policy.

FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- Volunteers are in the process of saving a South Valley veteran's home.

The folks from Veterans Community Response Corps. busted out the power tools and paintbrushes on the World War 2 vet's place in Lindsay.

They say he's unable to paint and do repairs on his own, and without a major makeover, his insurance company was going to cancel his policy.

This weekend, they worked on the rood and the paint job, but they still needs about 30 gallons of paint and 30 gallons of primer to finish the job.
