Fresno County man threatens roommates, locks self in home from police

FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- A man is in jail Sunday after an hours-long standoff with the SWAT team in Fresno County.

It happened in a rural area near Elm and Central Avenues.

Sheriff's deputies say the suspect threatened his roommates with a weapon.

The victims got out of the home safely but then the man locked himself inside the home and refused to surrender.

The SWAT team eventually got the suspect out by deploying chemical agents and a K9 unit before taking him into custody.
