Boxing gym reopens at bigger location that was shut down to make way for High-Speed Rail

FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- A grand opening on Saturday for a local gym that had to relocate for the High-Speed Rail project.

Main Event Boxing opened about 10 years ago in Central Fresno with the purpose of keeping kids off the street.

Last year, the gym shut down to make room for the new rail line. But with the help of the High-Speed Rail staff, gym owners found a new location downtown double their original size.

Gym operators said they're happy to return to changing lives and turning out champions.
