FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) --A 4-year-old child was rushed to the hospital Sunday night after wandering into a river in Fresno County, authorities said.
The Fresno County Sheriff's Office said that the child was left unattended near the water at Skaggs Bridge Park and went missing for over 30 minutes. Authorities pulled the 4-year-old out of the water unconscious when the child was found.
The child was originally pronounced dead, but emergency workers administered CPR and airlifted the 4-year-old to Valley Children's Hospital. However, the child died a short time later.
The child was not wearing a life vest.
