Woman stabbed in Southwest Fresno

FRESNO,Calif. -- The victim was found near California and Fruit avenues around 11:30 last night. When her friends showed up to give her a ride home, they found her stabbed several times in the stomach and called police.

The 23-year-old was rushed to the hospital, where she is expected to be okay.

At this time, detectives don't know what happened before she was stabbed or where it happened. Investigators say she was drinking earlier in the night and wasn't fully cooperative.
