High winds are predicted in the hills and those conditions could send the flames running again.

FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- Firefighters are making progress on the Cedar Fire burning in Tulare and Kern Counties. There is concern about the effect of Wednesday's weather.

High winds are predicted in the hills and those conditions could send the flames running again. Fire managers are preparing for the weather change and firefighters are working hard on containment lines.

Containment jumped to 70-percent with more than 29,000 acres burned by the fire.

Mandatory evacuation orders in areas near Kern County have been lifted.
