Man shot outside Downtown Fresno nightclub

FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- Police are still searching for the suspect who opened fire outside a Downtown Fresno nightclub and injured one person.

The shooting happened around 1 a.m. Sunday morning in the area of Van Ness and Kern Avenues. Authorities said a 38-year-old man was walking across the street near Karma Nightclub when he heard gunshots and was hit in the lower body.

They say his injuries are not life-threatening but he was taken to Community Regional Medical Center for treatment.

Police say they have no suspects in custody at this time and are trying to determine why the man was targeted.

Two vehicles in the area were also struck by bullets.
