Bubble wrap nominated for Toy Hall of Fame
If you love to play with bubble wrap, then you'll be thrilled to know it's now in the running for the hall of fame induction.

A new group of nominees for the National Toy Hall of Fame has been announced. Calling one of this year's nominees a toy always requires a little imagination.

If you love to play with bubble wrap, then you'll be thrilled to know it's now in the running for the hall of fame induction. Strong's National Museum of Play announced this year's finalists Thursday.

Engineers created bubble wrap by accident in 1957 when they were trying to make wallpaper. But they soon found it was great for packing and a lot of fun to pop those bubbles.

Other nominees this year include the games Dungeons & Dragons, Rock 'em Sock 'em Robots, and Uno.

You can find a full list here.

Winners will be announced November 10th and if you think bubble wrap is a longshot keep in mind, the cardboard box was inducted into the Toy Hall of Fame just a few years ago.
