Search continues for missing Delhi toddler

FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- The search for a missing toddler in the north valley will resume Monday.

Three-year-old Andres Tomas was last seen Saturday afternoon in Delhi, near Letteau Avenue and Shanks Road. The child was playing with siblings outside when he wandered away.

Once members of the Merced Sheriff's Department arrived, they began their search along a nearby canal behind their home. Members of their dive team went underwater Saturday but will not go back in the canal again until tomorrow.

"We're asking people to stay home," Sgt. Ray Framstad with the Merced County Sheriff's Office. "Thank you for the support however by them coming out it can damage footprints and evidence we need to put this case together."

They're taking a break from searching for little Andres for the night. The sheriff's office said they will resume their aerial and underwater search in the morning.
