Man hospitalized after shooting himself while driving in Downtown Fresno

FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- A man is on life support after police say he shot himself during an argument and this all happened while he was driving his car.

The crash happened in Downtown Fresno early Sunday morning near Angus and Grant. Police say the driver was fighting with his passenger and during the argument, he shot himself on purpose in the head.

He crashed the car into a gate and the passenger called the police for help.

It's unclear if the driver will survive.
