FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- A local family is asking for the community's help to find the driver who hit their son and left him badly injured.

Family members, who don't want to reveal their last name, say last Saturday Donnie was riding his motorcycle in Old Fig Garden. They say a car ran through a stop sign and T-boned Donnie - sending him into a nearby tree.

The impact of the crash caused Donnie's helmet to fly off. It left him with serious brain injuries and several broken bones.

Action News spoke with the 26-year-old's father who says his family wants the person responsible to turn themselves in.

"Just do the right thing, I'm sure if it was your family, you would want the person to stop and try to help you," he said.

Witnesses describe the car as possibly a white Chevy Impala. The vehicle likely has substantial front end damage and blue paint transfer on it from Donnie's bike.
