Motorcyclist crashes while fleeing from Fresno Police
Police weren't actually chasing the suspect when he sped off. An officer was responding with lights and sirens to another call when the motorcyclist fled and crashed into a Highway 41 median.

FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- A suspect is recovering in the hospital Sunday evening after he tried speeding away from Fresno Police.

The incident started around 11 a.m. on Highway 41. At the time, an officer was assisting another patrol car for an emergency and responded with its lights flashing.

Investigators believe that's when the suspect, who was riding a motorcycle, believed officers were after him when they really weren't.

The suspect sped off the Bullard off-ramp and crashed into a median. The man was ejected from the motorcycle and suffered major injuries.

Police later found meth on the suspect and believe that's why he acted erratically.
