Stolen firefighting gear recovered during Atwater drug bust

FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- A honey oil bust in Atwater could soon lead investigators to the Detwiler Fire.

Hugh Self, 81, was arrested at his home on Saturday morning. He was taken into custody following a parole check.

During a search of his home, officers found evidence of a honey butane oil lab and a self-contained breathing mask that investigators believe may have been stolen from fire crews in Mariposa County.

Three others at the home were also arrested but later released.

Self is now facing charges related to violating his parole.
