FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- Meet nine-year-old Jaelyn, like any little girl her age--she loves to dance, sing, and has a love of life that is infectious.

"She's very bubble she's very outgoing personality she's very funny. She's silly," said Amber Dominguez, Jaelyn's mother."

The fourth grader at Farmdale Elementary had to put her activities on hold July of this year. She was diagnosed with a malignant brain tumor.

Doctors were able to resect the whole tumor but there is still a long road to recovery, including three more weeks of radiation followed by a year of chemotherapy.

"She can't talk. She has to learn how to walk and talk again, so she has to learn how to do everything again," said Mauel Vega, Jaelyn's father.

She is not alone in her fight. Jaelyn's parents were overwhelmed by the turnout at Farmdale Elementary, where students were jumping for Jaelyn.

"It just shows we have a lot of people praying for her and there are a lot of people supporting us supporting her," said Dominguez.

It was a sea of pink as the Farmdale Foxes donned their fellow classmate's favorite color. Jaelyn or JJ as they call her could not be there, but students made sure the day was all about her.

Each raised money--pledging to jump for Jaelyn. More than $8,000 raised for the Vega family, that number is climbing thanks to the community leaders showed their support.

"Families today that participated know that if they had been in that situations that we would've done that for them," said Principal Kathy Moser.

Principal Kathy Moser says she is proud of how close the Farmdale family is--thrilled by the community turnout. They are already planning another event in November.
