Fresno man is facing animal cruelty charges after police say he beat and killed his dog

A Fresno man accused of beating and suffocating a dog recently bailed out of jail.

FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- 27-year-old Mark Anthony Estrada accused of beating and suffocating a dog recently bailed out of jail.

Humane officers say the suspect claimed there was not any dog at the house near Fresno and Ashlan.

But after a brief search, they found the dog wrapped in a sealed plastic bag and arrested Estrada on animal cruelty charges.
