2.8-magnitude earthquake hits Mariposa area

FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- A small 2.8-magnitude earthquake struck the Mariposa area on Sunday night, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.

The quake occurred at about 9:45 p.m. and was centered about 7 miles south-southwest of the city of Mariposa, the USGS reported.

One woman called the Action Newsroom and said she felt the earthquake.

There were no reports of injuries or damage.
