Merced County shelter animals find new beginnings outside of California

ATWATER, Calif. (KFSN) -- Shelter animals from Merced County are getting a second chance at finding their forever home in Oregon and Washington.

New Beginnings for Merced County Animals is participating in a Valentine flight leaving from Castle Airport in Atwater. The flight will be a freedom flight for over 150 dogs and cats from Merced County who will be sent to shelter in Oregon and Washington.

A second plane will also be there for animals from around the Central Valley.

The pilots volunteer their time and planes to make this happen.

Wings of Rescue is flying all of the animals at no charge to New Beginnings for Merced County Animals or any other group participating.
