Man arrested for choking puppy by holding it under faucet of running water
A dog is now available for adoption after Madera Police arrested a man accused of animal cruelty.

MADERA, Calif. (KFSN) -- A dog is now available for adoption after Madera Police arrested a man accused of animal cruelty.

Officers said Nathan Flores found an abandoned dog in the Fresno River. He was later seen by neighbors choking the puppy and holding it under a faucet of running water.

Police were able to save the pup.

Flores was taken to the Madera County Department of Corrections. The dog was placed in an animal shelter in Madera.
