FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- Fresno County Sheriffs deputies are searching for the driver of a car that burst into flames after a chase.

The crash happened in Central Fresno. Two deputies were in the process of pulling the car over when the driver took off. Deputies were not able to keep up and later found the car -- on fire and crashed into a tree on Michigan Avenue at Sixth Street.

Deputies looked inside to see if the driver was in danger.

"We breached the windows of the car to try to extract before the car became fully engulfed and we found nobody in it," said Sgt. Jason Hollins, Fresno County Sheriff's Office.

No injuries were reported. If you know anything about the suspect or where he is, you're asked to call the Fresno County Sheriff's Office.
