FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- A fire at an East Central Fresno storage facility earlier this month has left a nonprofit group in need of additional space.

The Children's Musical Theater uses the Derrel's Mini Storage on McKinley and Clovis avenues to store props and assemble sets. But after a fire there May 2, the electricity has been shut off -- leaving them in need of a new place to build their backgrounds.

"Our storage things can stay there, our sets can stay there, but we really can't do anything in the space. So we're in a position where we have shows opening starting in July and we have no place to build them," Children's Musical Theater Executive Director Judy Stene said.

The Children's Musical Theater has its first show in just a few weeks and is already about a month behind schedule. Staff members say they need a place through the summer for the rest of their productions, but will take anything available.
