FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- Madera police arrested a couple they say had heroin and nearly two dozen hypodermic needles on them. Officers say many of the needles were uncapped and feet away from the river trail.

Carlos Hernandez was cited just last week for camping illegally under the D Street bridge. His female friend Andrea Lucero was also given a ticket for the same thing. Police say Saturday morning the pair was found under the bridge again -- this time with drugs and drug paraphernalia.

Hernandez is on probation for theft and Lucero was wanted for possessing drugs. Both were booked into the Madera County Jail.
