Firefighters battle large fire in Fresno County
The fire started about 1 a.m. Tuesday morning at Bairos Recycling facility on Orange Avenue near Highway 99.

The fire started about 1 a.m. Tuesday morning at Bairos Recycling facility on Orange Avenue near Highway 99. Authorities say when they arrived on the scene, they found paper products burning.

Late Tuesday morning, firefighters were trying to spray all the burning piles down with water, and they expected to be on scene through the evening hours. They said this fire is especially dangerous because the embers can float away and easily catch something else on fire.

Firefighters said it was unclear what started the fire. They say it could be the work of other arsonists who are believed to have started four other fires in the same area. No injuries have been reported.
