FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- Firefighters are on the brink of snuffing out the so-called French Fire.

The fire is now 95 percent contained after burning nearly 14,000 acres in the Sierra National Forest near Mammoth Pool Reservoir. Officials say it could be fully contained by Tuesday.

On Saturday, crews were mopping up hot spots, and a Burned Area Emergency Response Team arrived to analyze the damage.

Investigators say the fire started earlier this month after someone abandoned an illegal campfire near the Rock Creek Campground. So far, no arrests have been made.
