Fresno County libraries to enforce new bag policy

FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- The Fresno County library is now enforcing a new rule similar to baggage rules at the airport.

It has to do with personal items that are taken inside, library officials want everyone who enters to stop at a bin.

Personal items must fit in the bin or be stored outside. It's being used to control the number of items people can bring inside the library to ensure patrons are comfortable.

"Strollers are an exception to this box," community relations analyst Rocky Vang said. "This is more for like baggage backpacks, personal bags. Sometimes we'll see carry-on bags, things like that."

The library staff will enforce the new policy and make sure visitors are in compliance.

This new policy will be implemented at all Fresno County library locations.
