Fresno firefighter hurt while rescuing person from car

FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- A Fresno firefighter was injured early Saturday morning while rescuing a person pinned inside a vehicle in Central Fresno.

Officials say the firefighter suffered a dislocated shoulder while trying to remove the roof of the car at Dakota and Hughes avenues. Crews managed to free the victim after about an hour and half. That person had significant injuries but is expected to survive.

The firefighter was treated and released from the hospital.
