FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- A Fresno police officer was sent to the hospital Saturday evening after his police motorcycle collided with a car.

Fresno police say at around 5:45 p.m. the on-duty traffic officer and a car crashed into each other at McKinley and Marks avenues in West Central Fresno.

The officer was sent to Community Regional Medical Center with several injuries. He was last listed in good condition.

The driver of the car was not injured.

"Right now the initial investigation is that the motorcyclist was traveling eastbound on McKinley here when subsequently the vehicle made a left turn into the apartment complex, and that's when the collision happened," said Fresno Police Lt. Phil Cooley.

Authorities are still investigating the crash and who was at fault.
