Gunfire injures two people in Central Fresno
Police are searching for a suspect in a Central Fresno drive-by shooting.

FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- Police are searching for a suspect in a Central Fresno drive-by shooting. The shooting happened around 4:30 Thursday afternoon near Orchard and Nevada, in the area of First and Shields. Two people are in the hospital but are going to be okay.

A 34-year-old male and his 26-year-old girlfriend were both shot in the leg. This shooting is believed to be gang related. In fact police say the male victim admitted to being in a gang and says a rival gang was retaliating.

Fresno police have a couple of leads they're working on but haven't arrested a suspect at this time.

Both Nevada and Orchard are closed during the investigation. Police say a lot of the neighbors here including children were outside when it happened, but aren't talking to police most likely for fear of retaliation.
