Man dead, woman seriously hurt after crash near Easton
Investigators said a man was driving southbound on Walnut when he failed to stop at a stop sign and collided with a woman who entered the intersection.

FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- One person is dead and another remains in the hospital Saturday evening following a traffic accident just outside the city of Easton.

The crash happened around 6:30 p.m. Friday night in the area of Walnut and Adam Avenues. Investigators said a man was driving southbound on Walnut when he failed to stop at a stop sign and collided with a woman who entered the intersection.

The man suffered traumatic injuries to his head and was pronounced dead at the scene. The woman, who was not wearing her seat belt, was propelled out her car and sustained major injuries.

The investigation remains on-going but officers believe alcohol may have played a role in the crash.
