Man in critical condition after Central Fresno shooting

FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- A man is in critical condition after police say someone shot him while he was walking in Central Fresno.

The shooting happened near First and Shields around 8:30 p.m. Monday. Investigators say the victim is a man in his 30s. Someone shot him near the Golden Living Center, and the victim was found collapsed in the entrance of the building.

"We don't know if it was a drive-by, walk-by, but apparently the victim was walking; that's what we have discovered," said Lt. Phil Cooley with the Fresno Police Department.

The victim is recovering at Community Regional Medical Center.
